So we carried out a week-long project in the children's psychiatric hospital in Opařany. From Monday 23.8. until Thursday, August 26, 2010, when the performance premiered. We used Maurice Sendak's book: Where the Wild Lives as a basis. 15 children participated in the entire project. Since the book is about being angry, we made sure in the beginning that we are all angry, but in the end we all want to be nice so that everyone likes us. So on the first day we talked about what each type of mischief looks like, and on the second day the children made masks and puppets. It was painted and cut from paper and glued. The third day was a regular exam. We sang and played the whole story about naughty Max and the savages he met when his mischief got too much. Well, on Thursday, the audience appeared in the hall. Fellow patients and nurses and the premiere was really successful. Some of the "actors" had quite a lot of stage fright, but in the end they all overcame it and played it wonderfully. We had to reward everyone with chocolate because it was a really wonderful week.
